Using the power of GPS, or the just power of a map and compass, you can go looking for a box of treasure we’ve hidden somewhere in the trees of Birmingham. Happy hunting!

We have something exciting to announce.

To celebrate the cross-country adventure that isThe Forest's UK tour, we've been organising another kind of adventure for you to have in forests up and down the country: It’s The Forest treasure hunt.

Hidden in the trees near five of our tour locations, we’ve planted boxes of treasure for you to find. Armed with a map, a compass and a sense of adventure, anyone is welcome to head outside and see what they find in the forest. If you like the sound of uncovering something special in the logs and leaves, then you can find out more information in the tab on the left, “The Forest treasure hunt”, which has all the information you need to get you started.

The locations will be made public over the next few weeks, but the first site, in Ipswich, is live already. And astonishingly, two plucky explorers have already laid their hands on it, including one particularly intrepid explorer who braved the snow to be the first to find the box with his dog, Ruby.

We’ll let you know as soon as our hiding places in Lancaster, Birmingham, Cardiff and Caernarfon are revealed, but in the meantime, please let us know if you have any luck finding our treasure in Ipswich. Tweet us @feveredsleep or find us on Facebook.

Happy hunting!

Always consider your safety when searching for the treasure.  Children should be accompanied by an adult and always tell someone else where you are going and when you expect to be back.
